Job Summary

Overview

We are introducing a new role within the Wholesale Banking (WB) Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) organisation to further strengthen the First Line of Defence (1st LoD) NonFinancial Risk (NFR) function. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic professional to join the CMA 1st LoD NFR team as a Data Management Expert. Internal candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Role

The Data Management Expert is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships across the global CMA platform as well as forging a collaborative environment with key business partners within the first second and third lines of defence.

The Team

You will be part of the CMA 1st LoD NFR team with members located in the Netherlands and the UK and report to the Global CMA Governance Lead. The role encompasses governance coordination and overarching business performance responsibilities for the global CMA organisation.

Your Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Data Management Expert within the CMA 1st Line NFR team is to serve as the principal point of reference for the CMA platform on all matters related to data management and this capacity the role requires close collaboration with the Global CMA Product Business Managers to ensure consistent adherence to all datarelated obligations standards and governance requirements.

The core focus of the Data Management expert role as part of the CMA 1st line NFR team will be on the following:

Governance

  • Provide challenge advice and support to identify analyse and mitigate non-financial risks related to Data Governance and Data Management within WB CMA.
  • Help design prepare and coordinate NFR initiatives that maintain risk appetite alignment and address related requirements and requests.
  • Supporting request related to static data maintenance and data extraction and exploration.

Framework / Control Standard

  • Assuring first line responsibilities under the Data Governance and Data Management NFR framework.
  • Work closely with the CMA 1st LoD NFR team on the common touchpoints including implementation of frameworks and control standards roll-out of KCT and its execution in collaboration with ODCR.
  • Participating to the design and the implementation of the CMA Client Control Unit. The objective is to design and implement a structured and automatised control framework from regulation analysis to control execution and reporting including:
    • Understand the complete design of a control unit including governance and data aspects like data flow analysis documentation and automation.
    • Identify which control activities should be centralised and automated.
    • Translate regulatory requirements into operational controls based on rules and data points.

Reporting & Monitoring:

  • Participating to Business & Control Framework Review
  • Leading the management of the remedial actions either self-identified or identified via internal (CAS Compliance QA etc.) or external (ECB DNB FCA etc.) reviews.

Additionally fostering awareness of non-financial risk within CMA through first-line NFR communications and targeted training sessions is an important aspect of the role.

Qualifications & Competencies

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelors or masters degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Data Lake and Data Warehousing platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks; ability to interpret strategy and policy and translate them into objectives.
  • Experience with reporting tools (MicroStrategy IBM Cognos Power BI).
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint Excel and SharePoint.
  • Ability to help define data platforms strategically linking current developments with business needs.
  • Strong analytical skills including datadriven decisionmaking and modelling.
  • Proven ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in fastpaced dynamic environments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to set and deliver priorities independently.
  • Curiosity and an interest in innovation and data trends.
  • Experience in or exposure to CMArelated products is a plus.
