POSITION TITLE: Teacher Long-Term Substitute SCEL/ELEMREPORTS TO: PrincipalSUMMARY: The Teacher plans organizes and implements appropriate instructional programs in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic RESPONSIBILITIES:1. : Know and be guided by the curriculum guides of the District and the Plans: Maintain a plan book of daily and unit instruction based on District curriculum guides (including emergency plans in the event of illness.): Establish and communicate to students well-defined objectives for each unit of work including related projects and : Be responsible for an instructional program and the utilization of teaching methods that consider the individual needs interests abilities and maturity levels of the students including tutorial services.2. Training: Attend staff meetings and District in-service training : Serve on committees as Activities: Be responsible for discharging whatever instructional and non-instructional school-related activities may be assigned e.g. playground lunchroom study hall etc. Evaluation: Supervise and provide work assignments to teacher aides and/or student teachers working under his/her direction and evaluate their performance when requested to do With Staff Members: Confer with other staff members regarding their own experience with a given student during team planning time provided. Participate in grade-level teacher/advisor conferences as scheduled by the Superintendent or his/her designee.3. : Evaluate individual student progress regularly and keep requisite records consistent with the area in which he/she is : Provide written student progress reports and Welfare: Take all reasonable measures to assure student health and safety being alert to unusual mental or physical conditions of students and referring these to the principal or his/her Disabilities: When learning disabilities are suspected request consultation with staff specialists and provide each such student with a designated program of instruction when this is the recommended remedial : Be responsible for the conduct of the students in his/her direct charge and for assuming authority as warranted over other students in such areas as school corridors cafeteria assemblies or during away-from-school : Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students as : When deemed necessary hold conferences with individual students and parents.4. and Regulations: Know and observe the policies and regulations of the Attendance Tardiness: Keep records of pupil attendance and tardiness and advise administration of excessive absences or Illness: Report any injury or illness to the student or self to the school : Report to work daily at times assigned by the administration and remain on duty through the time prescribed by the contract. Advise administration before 6:00 a.m. before absence from Supplies: Account for books and supplies and keep required records of their quantity and : Observe proper housekeeping procedures and safety practices in keeping with building Plant: Advise administration promptly whenever an unsafe building condition is observed in class or of Daily Duties: As required remain in school after dismissal of students for as long as necessary to complete daily duties attend meetings hold parent conferences Procedures: Read and become familiar with the schools emergency response plan.5. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal
