Job Summary

This direct entry exempt position requires a working knowledge of sales use and other state and local non-income tax compliance and accounting matters; successful candidate will be a self-starter with a team-first attitude and a passion for process improvements.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Assisting in the identification and documenting of tax return positions

Oversight of monthly and quarterly tax return process for sales use and GRT taxes including organization and retention of return workpapers for a complex group of legal entities

Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for applicable tax accounts

Maintaining sales/use/GRT tax processes and procedures guidelines including regular updates for new laws new entities and/or improved processes

Discrete tax research projects

Assisting the non-income tax controversy team in responding to audit inquiries for applicable taxes

A problem solving mentality with a focus on continuous process improvements to better provide taxability analysis to the business units in an efficient manner as well as structuring solutions to minimize tax impacts where possible

Further providing outstanding client service through responsiveness to questions and requests by the business units including interaction with staff and departments throughout the organization

Education Experience & Skill Requirements

Experienced gained through professional careers and/or degree programs or certifications

2 to 4 years relevant experience strongly preferred

Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks and demonstrated project management skills

Basic knowledge of tax return processes
