The Environmental Program Manager I serves as the AsbestosDivision Chief. The primary purpose of this role is to plan direct andsupervise the activities of the Division. This includes the responsibility tolicense asbestos contractors and enforce COMAR 26.11.21 (Control of AsbestosRegulations) and the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants(Asbestos NESHAP) within the state of Maryland.
Education: A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in engineering or the biological environmental or physical sciences.
Experience: Three years of experience supervising a professional staff or as a project supervisor in the General field of work.

may substitute additional experience in engineering public administration or law as related to environmental health on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
may substitute registration as an Environmental Sanitarian or as a Professional Engineer for the required education.
may substitute one additional year of experience in engineering public administration or lawrelated to environmental health for the 30 credit hours of required education.
may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military serviceexperience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as acommissioned officer inEnvironmental Engineering and NaturalResources classifications or Environmental Engineering andNatural Resources specialty codes in the Engineering Natural Resources and Science field of work on a year-for-year basis forthe required education andexperience.
