Job Description Summary:

The University of Kansas Medical Center-Wichita campus invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the human cadaveric dissection laboratories in Wichita Kansas. Job Description:

Job Duties:

Anatomy Education

  • Serveas an anatomy lab instructor throughout the first- and second-year curriculumin Wichita.

  • Develop plananddeliver high-quality lectures and laboratorysessionsin conjunction with KUSMtricampusfaculty including regularplanningmeetingsto ensuretricampuscomparability.

  • Arrange cadaver transportation confirm annual cadaver orders and request labsuppliesas necessary.

  • Administer and supervise other faculty in theadministration oflab assessmentsin conjunction with KUSMtricampusfaculty.

  • Assistandparticipatewith basic science anatomy integration in Phase 2.

  • Provide content-specific learning support by promptlyansweringquestions from students in person by email or by other means as is most effective.

  • Conduct periodic review sessions as needed or requested by the Associate DeanofUndergraduate Medical Education.

  • Collaborate with theKU-Wichita Simulation Center.

  • Collaborate with other partner institutions and communities.

  • Oversee part-time anatomists residents and faculty whoassistin the lab.

Anatomy Lab Management

  • Care for the cadavers and cadaveric specimens.

  • Ensurelaboratoryisclean organized andorderly.

  • Provide oversight of lab inventory supplies task trainers equipment and specimens.

AdditionalMedical Education

  • Serve as a facilitator forfourcase-based collaborative learning sessionsper week.

  • Lead and coordinate first and second-year medical student question groups withassistancefrom learning specialists in Kansas City.

  • Support students studying the curriculum and preparing for Step 1.

OtherDuties

  • Serve as a blockdirector as opportunitiesarise.

  • Conduct scholarly work related to medical education anatomy pathology histology and/or clinical practice or another area of interest.

  • Be anactiveadvisor for the Anatomy Student Interest Groupandassistwith other SIG activitiesthat incorporate clinically relevant anatomical trainingasappropriate.

  • Participate in department and university committees as.

Required Qualifications:

Education: PhDin Anatomy.

This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements institutional standards of academic and professional excellence alignment with peer institution benchmarks and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Work Experience:

  • Human dissection skills of all body regions.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching human anatomyat the medical or graduate level.

  • Record of scholarly activity.
