Job Summary
Job Title: Medical Record Audit Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Record Audit Specialist to review analyze and ensure the accuracy and compliance of medical records. The candidate will be responsible for auditing patient records to maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and audit patient medical records for accuracy and completeness
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and documentation standards
Identify documentation gaps and provide corrective recommendations
Maintain confidentiality of patient information
Prepare audit reports and share findings with management
Coordinate with medical staff for documentation improvements
Ensure adherence to hospital policies and legal guidelines
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Understanding of healthcare documentation standards
Knowledge of ICD/CPT coding (preferred)
Attention to detail and analytical skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
Eligibility Criteria:
Graduate in Healthcare / Nursing / Life Sciences / Medical field
Certification in Medical Coding / Healthcare Quality (preferred)
2 years of experience in Medical Record Auditing
Required Skills:
Minimum 35 years of experience in Medical Record Auditing / Healthcare Quality Strong knowledge of Clinical Documentation Standards Hands-on experience with ICD-10 CPT and HCPCS coding systems Familiarity with NABH JCI or other healthcare accreditation standards Experience in internal and external hospital audits
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration Life Sciences Nursing Pharmacy or related fieldCertification in Medical Coding (ICD-10 CPT HCPCS) preferredCertified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification (preferred)Certification in Healthcare Quality / Clinical Audit (added advantage)
