Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Assist the staff by performing clerical and patient care duties under the direction of an RN. Maintain and update patient records in a timely orderly manner. Acknowledge and greet customers upon arrival to unit and demonstrate enthusiastic friendly approach.
Essential Job Functions
Performs delegated direct patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse.
Reports conditions of patients including changes or abnormal findings to Primary Nurse Charge Nurse or Provider.
Provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights and identifies resources to meet patient needs.
Acts as a patient advocate.
Correctly and efficiently completes documents and communicates physician orders and care provided. Correctly utilizes computer systems and serves as a unit resource.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements core measures infection prevention and patient quality initiatives to achieve optimal clinical and organizational outcomes.
Maintains a well-organized appropriately stocked and clean work environment and provides an environment that is conducive to workflow.

Licensing/Certification
Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
Education
Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination
Work Experience
Prefer completed Fundamentals of Nursing or a Nursing Assistant Program or have experience as a patient care technician in an acute care setting or nursing home or experience as an ED Technician.
