Job Summary
Commodity Buyer or Planner / Scheduler
Privately held manufacturer of engineered to order capital equipment has an immediate need for a Commodity Buyer OR a Planner / Scheduler. (One Hire will be made)
For Commodity Buyer Role: (On Site)
Negotiation of all terms & conditions for major commodities (Metals - Plate Tube Bar and key componentsetc)
Understanding of make-buy analysis ROI and ability to create a business case
Indirect consumable understanding and management
Ability to work with Engineering Operations and Sales.
Prefer a BS degree and prior experience as a Buyer in a manufacturingenvironment.
Prefer prior metals knowledge.
Prior Leadership in supply chain is preferred. (this role has no direct reports but is responsible for a very high amount of $$ spend and must work across all business functions.)
For Planner / Scheduler Role: (On Site)
- Develop maintain and update project schedules for fabrication machining assembly and testing.
- Coordinate with Engineering / Project Management to understand overall scope.
- Work with procurement team to confirm material availability lead times etc.
- Work with Production Team to confirm progress.
- Maintain data in ERP (Made To Manage) - including Work Orders Routings and Production Statuses.
- Lead Daily / Weekly Production meetings to align team on priorities / updates.
- Must have prior experience in Planning in a manufacturing environment. (heavy fabrication ETO capital equipment etc)
- Prefer BS degree
