We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Civil OSP Design Specialist to support our growing Outside Plant (OSP) this role you will act as a vital quality gateway performing technical reviews and QC checks on Civil OSP design packages to ensure they meet strict client and industry standards.
As our project volume increases you will help eliminate bottlenecks by absorbing day-to-day review workloads and ensuring our deliverables are accurate compliant and ready for submittal. This is a fully remote position that requires high responsiveness and the ability to coordinate across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Civil & OSP Technical Review
- Perform detailed Quality Control (QC) reviews of Civil OSP design packages including trenching duct banks manholes/handholes and utility coordination.
- Validate that designs comply with Client-specific templates and technical documentation.
- Cross-reference designs against local jurisdictional requirements (Municipal ROW DOT) and national standards (NEC NESC).
- Identify inconsistencies or missing elements and provide clear actionable feedback to the CAD and design teams.
Project Support & Coordination
- Assist Project Managers in tracking design review cycles maintaining comment logs and meeting submittal deadlines.
- Help integrate feedback from external stakeholders (municipalities permitting agencies etc.) back into the design workflow.
- Participate in internal meetings to ensure design intent aligns with field conditions and construction requirements.
Process & Quality Improvement
- Utilize and maintain QC checklists to ensure consistency across all project deliverables.
- Assist in identifying recurring design errors to help improve upstream processes.
- Leverage digital tools (Smartsheet dashboards and trackers) to monitor workflow efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in a Technology or related field 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- AutoCAD or similar GIS/design software experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in OSP design telecommunications or civil drafting/review.
- Exceptional attention to detail strong written communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Smartsheet.
- Basic understanding of Civil OSP components (conduit cabling ROW).
