Job Summary
Planning is responsible for integrating appropriate information from all relevant mining disciplines to design appropriately feasible Mine plans. Mine plans requested from this role are monthly annually 5 years. (Geology Survey and Rock Engineering).
Roles and responsibilities include the following:
- Monthly plan
- Annual plan
- 5-year plan
- Comparing actuals with plans re-plans and recommends shaft remedial actions
- Consolidation of monthly planning
- Optimum Mining layouts
- Input into new technical systems design / layouts / structures
- Input into capital and ad hoc projects
- Functional owner of Cads mine scheduling on shaft
- Compile short-term plan in accordance with LoM (obtained from the Chief Mine
- Planner in conjunction with medium term planner) and 5-year plans in conjunction with line management
- Schedule the 1-year and monthly plans with input from line management
- Schedule new layouts and design for project type work (extensions new block new ideas) on Mine RP Planner
- Analyses KPIs and highlights potential high-risk areas
- Put controls in place to ensure Production plans are adhered to
This role is on a D1 level reporting to the Assistant Mining Engineer Planning
Qualifications :
- Matric
- Mining qualifications that support the preparation of mine plans such as survey or mine overseer certificates/Survey qualification
Experience
- Mining industry background with at least 6 years experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Cads Mine draughting scheduling software program skills compulsory Understanding of the following disciplines: Geology Survey Rock Engineering Ventilation/Evaluation
- Reporting skills required
- Understanding of Mine Planning procedures
