Job Description
As an Armed Security Officer - in Fairfax VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as government buildings and properties and more. As an Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal at our locations you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your visible patrols and strong communication skills will support a secure environment for staff and visitors. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to patients visitors and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents alarms and/or critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner escalating to site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas parking areas and perimeter points documenting observations and reporting unusual activity to help to deter unwanted behavior.
- Support access control activities such as monitoring entrances verifying identification when required directing foot and vehicle traffic and assisting with visitor management per site policy.
- Complete reports and logs related to incidents patrol findings and policy exceptions and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Must have 2 years of Armed related experience.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess an Active Armed VA DCJS
- Handcuff pepper spray and baton experience are preferred but will train if needed.
- CPR and first aid certification are preferred but will train if needed.
- Will have to pass the contracts required SO4 Shoot at the range.
- Will have to take the contracts required polygraph.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
