Job Description
As a Security Officer - Access Control Gate in North Chesterfield VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will support access control operations greet employees and visitors verify credentials issue badges and help manage entry procedures. You will complete routine patrols maintain a visible presence to help reduce incidents document security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet and communicate clearly with site teams. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees contractors and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at an industrial location.
- Staff access control points to help manage entry and exit verify identification and/or access authorization issue visitor credentials and maintain visitor and contractor logs per site requirements.
- Conduct vehicle and pedestrian screening as required including checking deliveries against paperwork directing traffic flow at gates and coordinating with site contacts for approvals and/or escorts.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including initiating notifications documenting actions taken and supporting on-site personnel during industrial alarms and/or process upsets.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of gate areas adjacent buildings and perimeter routes as assigned reporting hazards suspicious activity and/or maintenance issues through approved communication channels.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have 1 years of security-related experience.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
