Seeking a Part Time Cook to join our Buffalo Area Services Team

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To maintain the Food Service program for Residential Services providing all meals including weekends managing all inventories and maintaining sanitary conditions.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Provide day-to-day operations of the Food Service program including but not limited to cooking and preparation of all meals-including weekends upkeep and cleaning of all kitchen areas equipment walk-in cooler and refrigerator in compliance with County and State requirements
- Provide up-to-date inventory rotating stock to ensure proper compliance with use by dates for perishable items to maintain sanitary conditions
- Complete order form biweekly to replenish needed supplies give to supervisor for approval
- Perform all duties pertaining to Food Service deliveries
- Submit updated weekly menus
- Responsible for daily transfer of prepared meals from the main kitchen to the Emergency Housing site
- Implement Food Service system in compliance with accepted sanitary environmental and bacteriological safeguards controls and practices established by policy
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and notify supervisor of any needed repairs
- Provide results of mandated medical testing and inoculations: TINE testing every 2 years and Tetanus every 10 years
- Provide supervisor with all information needed for timely and accurate ordering of daily and Holiday meal supplies
- Responsible for preparation of the weekly meals during the Street Feeding season
- Prepare and serve Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner
- Possess and maintain Serv-Safe certification
- Attend appropriate workshops and/or training sessions as provided
- Attend staff meetings as appropriate
- Participate in all other duties and activities as requested or assigned

Qualifications
SPECIAL SKILLS CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 to 2 years direct experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as mathematical abilities (weights and measures)
- Must be able to use commercial kitchen equipment and step ladder
