Short Description
Provide psychological assessment and psychotherapeutic intervention for individual outpatient adult population. Work in collaboration with psychiatry team including residents in appropriate clinical patient care. Engage in traditional OP psychotherapy rooted in evidence-based interventions including but not limited to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other mindfulness-based interventions. Opportunity to design and lead and facilitate psycho-educational groups; teaching and supervisory support of psychiatry residents on psychotherapy cases; provide professional presentations as requested (staff in-service Grand Rounds medical school); academic appointment through CMSRU and opportunities to support medical students.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clinical Role with direct patient care. Maintain an active caseload of patients presenting with a wide range of symptomatology focused on a brief intervention model. Use of appropriate empirically validated interventions.
- Provides patient assessment intervention and psychotherapy develop treatment plans collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and make recommendations as needed.
- Develops meaningful and effective relationships with leadership Medical Attending Leadership APPs and Administrative Leads in all areas. Engages in regular communication and coordination with all.
- Develop original presentations and trainings on Psychotherapy as needed to cover areas such as CBT MI ACT and DBT skills to psychiatry residents.
Education Requirements
Psy.D./Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
License/Certification Requirements
Must be licensed in New Jersey (license eligible will be considered)
