Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT / MLS)
Dayton OH
VA Medical Center Hospital Laboratory
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting potential opportunity for an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT/MLS) to support the Dayton VA Medical Center.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly respected federal healthcare system delivering high-quality laboratory services that directly impact Veteran patient care.
Minimum Qualifications (Must Meet Federal Standards)
Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or related field
Graduate of a NAACLS or ABHES accredited program or program acceptable to AMT
Current certification meeting one of the following:
Generalist Certification:
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) ASCP BOC or AMT
Medical Technologist (MT) ASCP BOR or AMT
OR
Categorical or Specialist certification by ASCP or AMT
Minimum 24 months of clinical laboratory experience
Key Responsibilities
Perform automated and non-automated laboratory testing in:
Chemistry
Hematology
Urinalysis
Serology
Bacteriology
Immunohematology
Blood Banking
Microbiology
Molecular and specialty areas as applicable
Evaluate specimen suitability and maintain physiologic integrity
Prepare reagents and reference materials
Calibrate standardize and maintain laboratory instruments
Perform and document quality control and quality assurance procedures
Troubleshoot instrumentation and implement corrective actions
Analyze verify and report laboratory results accurately
Maintain compliance with all VA laboratory policies and safety standards
