Were hiring a Head of Crypto Tax to act as the subject matter expert for our product roadmap and voice for technical tax topics.

This is a high-impact cross-functional leadership role at the center of Koinly. Youll serve as the POC for all tax-related matters bridging the gap between technical product logic strategic marketing and high-level partnerships. This is not a traditional back-office tax role its product-facing partner-facing and externally visible.

• The mission: Act as the single Point of Contact (POC) for all tax matters across Product Marketing and Partnerships.

Sit at the intersection of product compliance strategic partnerships and industry education.

Responsibilities

• Own the tax logic and correctness of Koinlys outputs (e.g. capital gains Form-DA DeFi treatment).

• Provide clear positions on complex or ambiguous crypto scenarios and help shape roadmap priorities.

• Support strategic partnerships (exchanges tax software providers ecosystem partners) as the tax lead.

• Represent Koinly publicly through events webinars social platforms and community engagement.

• Collaborate with Marketing to produce high-quality educational and thought leadership content.

• Stay deeply immersed in the crypto ecosystem and emerging market practices globally.

Requirements

• Youre a US tax expert: Youve got 4 years of experience specializing in capital gains and digital asset taxation with a deep technical understanding of IRS reporting.

• Youre a qualified CPA: You hold an active CPA license and have the technical rigor that comes with it.

• Youre crypto-native: You dont just study the tech; you use it. Youve hands-on experience navigating staking DeFi protocols NFTs and complex on-chain transactions.

• Youre hands-on and client-facing: Youve spent time in the trenches with clients or users. You know how to take a complex problem look someone in the eye (or the camera) and walk them through the solution.

• Youve got an entrepreneurial mindset: You thrive on ownership. You dont say it depends but rather make definitive judgement calls in evolving areas to ensure the product remains both compliant and user-friendly.

• Youre digitally active: You maintain a presence on platforms like X LinkedIn or Reddit and enjoy engaging publicly to lead the conversation on crypto tax.

• Youre a confident representative: Youre as comfortable representing Koinly in a high-stakes partner meeting as youre speaking at an industry event or hosting a ilive webinar.
