Job Summary

We are looking for a Sous Chef for a full time position. The position will be filled as soon as possible and includes shift work.Working hours will mainly be evenings and weekends. The position reports directly to the Head Chef.

OConnors Stavanger is looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef who thrives in a fastpaced environment and takes pride in delivering great food experiences. Youll be part of a warm energetic team where quality atmosphere and hospitality come first.

As a Sous Chef at OConnors you are the right hand of the Head Chef and a key contributor to the daily operation of the kitchen. Youll work both handson and strategically ensuring that everything leaving the pass maintains the high standard our guests expect.

This role offers responsibility influence and opportunities for development. Youll play an important part in shaping menus routines and the kitchen culture.

Responsibilities/tasks:

  • Follow-up and training of kitchen staff

  • Co-responsibility for inventory control purchasing and stock counting

  • Quality assurance of production and service

  • Creative menu and concept development as well as planning for menus together with the head chef

  • IK-mat/internal control

  • Follow-up of suppliers and deliveries

  • Actively work to reduce food waste

  • The head chefs deputy

Do you have the qualifications and competences we are looking for We are looking for someone who:

  • Have experience from a similar position

  • Has a certificate as a chef

  • Fluent in Norwegian or/and English both orally and in writing

  • Has good communication skills with guests and colleagues

  • Has good knowledge of Norwegian IK-mat rules in theory and practice

  • Has a good understanding of kitchen operations

  • Is adaptable solution-oriented and has an eye for detail

  • Enjoy working independently and confident in making your own decisions

  • Is proactive and initiative-taking

  • Enjoys working with and has the ability to build a strong team and working environment
