The Role:Lead DevOps Engineer

The Team

The Procurement IQ team is buildingAI-powered supply chain intelligencesolutions within S&P Global Mobilitys Supply Chain and Technology organization. Youll join a collaborative innovation-driven environment that valuestechnical excellence continuous learning and cross-functional partnership. Working in a globally distributed team you will partner with data scientists product managers and domain experts to deliver solutions that transform how automotive OEMs understand and manage their supply chains. The team embracesmodern DevOps practices cloud-native architectures and a culture of ownership empowering engineers to influence both technical direction and product decisions.

Responsibilities and Impact

  • Design and implement scalable cloud infrastructureon a major cloud provider usinginfrastructure-as-codeprinciples and aligning with enterprise standards for security networking and approved service selection.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelinesusingCI/CD platformscontainerization technologies and automated deployment strategies to enable fast reliablezero-downtime releasesacross development staging and production.
  • Lead implementation of monitoring and observability capabilitiesusingmetrics logging and distributed tracing platformsto ensure platform health performance and proactive incident detection.
  • Drive operational excellenceby establishing SRE-style practices creating runbooks and playbooks implementingauto-scaling strategies and ensuring the platform meets99.5% uptime SLAtargets.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teamson DevOps best practices cloud-native architecture patterns containerization strategies and security/compliance requirementsfostering continuous improvement and ownership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AI/ML engineers data engineers security and product partners to ensure infrastructure integrates seamlessly with application needs and business objectives.

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent practical experience in DevOps/Cloud Engineering).
  • 9 yearsof hands-on experience with a major cloud providers services includingmanaged container computeserverless computeobject storagemanaged relational databasesgraph database servicesvirtual networking andidentity/access management with a proven ability to architect and deploy production-grade infrastructure.
  • Strong expertise ininfrastructure automation tools(infrastructure-as-code) includingmodule development state management and GitOps-style workflowsfor deployment and version control.
  • Proficiency inCI/CD pipeline engineeringusing CI/CD platforms plus experience withcontainerization technologiesandcontainer orchestration platforms.
  • Solid programming and scripting skills (e.g.Python shell scripting or similar) to automate infrastructure tasks build internal tooling and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong understanding ofsecurity best practices including encryption in transit/at rest identity and access controls network segmentationsecrets management platforms and compliance with enterprise security standards.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience withgraph database technologies including graph data modeling query optimization and operating relationship-centric data at scale.
  • Hands-on experience implementingobservability and monitoring platforms including centralized logging metrics dashboards alerting anddistributed tracingfor microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity withAI/ML infrastructure and LLM deployment including experience withmanaged foundation-model/LLM platformsand practical understanding of MLOps practices for deployment and monitoring.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills including the ability to work effectively across global teams mentor junior engineers produce clear technical documentation and translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
