Job Summary

Data drives ING. It shapes how we assess risk measure performance and make decisions. To unlock its full value data must be complete accurate traceable auditable and protected. The Global Data Organisation is the first line of defense securing strong data chains in close collaboration with business lines functions and countries across the Bank.

The Global Chief Data Office (CDO) delivers the standards capabilities and products that power INGs datadriven transformation. From frictionless customer journeys to ESG innovation and emerging digital trends the CDO ensures INGs data remains a strategic assetgoverned protected and ready for the future.

The Opportunity

As a Data Governance Expert in the Global Data Management team you will help define and maintain INGs global standards for Data Governance Data Quality Data Protection AI and Data Ethics. These standards support INGs regulatory obligations (BCBS239 GDPR AI Act DORA) and ensure consistent execution across all countries and business lines.

You will work in a lean global function with strong ties to local teams cocreating frameworks work instructions and controls. Your work will strengthen INGs enterprisewide data capability improve audit readiness and support the Banks shift toward full ownership of data processes across the organization.

You will contribute to INGs transformation by keeping our data foundations strong actionable and aligned with supervisory expectations.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Data Governance Expert you will:

  • Develop and improve global governance processes controls and standards.
  • Create work instructions that translate data governance requirements into implementation for data services delivery and operations.
  • Apply data governance concepts and tooling to support execution across domains.
  • Monitor implementation through defined metrics and dashboards and follow up on gaps.
  • Produce progress reports and status updates on data governance topics.
  • Maintain clear documentation for audit readiness and regulatory reviews.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the global data community.
  • Organize community calls workshops and stakeholder sessions.
  • Prepare presentations training materials and knowledgesharing content.
  • Support strategic execution within the Global Data Management team.
  • Contribute to team building and collective delivery across INGs global data organization.

Your Competencies

  • A Masters degree in Business Economics Data Science or a related discipline.
  • A strong passion for data management and driving transformation initiatives.
  • The confidence and capability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • A proactive mindset demonstrating ownership and initiative in managing tasks and delivering results.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data identify challenges and support decision-making with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Resilience and adaptability in dynamic environments handling shifting priorities and tight deadlines with professionalism and focus.
  • An openness to contribute to diverse and high-impact projects that deepen your understanding of data and transformation across the Bank.
