Phlebotomy Technician (Registered/Certified)

VA Medical Center Clinical Laboratory Services
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting potential opportunity for a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to support the Dayton VA Medical Center.
This position plays a critical role in specimen collection and patient interaction within a hospital-based laboratory environment serving Veterans.
Minimum Qualifications
Certificate from an accredited phlebotomy training program (minimum 120 didactic hours or state-required equivalent)
Certification/registration through ASCP or AMT (preferred per federal standards)
Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory hospital or medical center setting
Completed at least:
Minimum of 1040 hours worked as a Phlebotomy Technician within the past 3 years
Basic computer and typing skills
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and skin punctures for blood collection
Accession and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
Verify patient identity using proper protocols
Label specimens accurately and ensure timely transport to the laboratory
Centrifuge samples when appropriate per state and facility guidelines
Provide professional compassionate care to diverse patient populations including elderly and difficult draws
Maintain strict infection control standards
Interact effectively with inpatients outpatients and clinical staff
