Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate maintain and troubleshoot a range of machining equipment to produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications. This role requires precision technical knowledge and a commitment to safety. As a Machinist you will work closely with engineering. operations and quality assurance teams to ensure that all parts meet the highest standards.
Expectations:
- Set up and Operate Equipment: Operate lathes milling machines grinders and other machinery to manufacture precision parts.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering blueprints technical drawings and specifications to understand the dimensions and tolerances of the workpieces.
- Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products using precision tools (micrometers calipers gauges) to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure efficient operations.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other machinists engineers and team members to refine designs and improve production processes.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of machining operations materials used and any adjustments made to the machines.
- Work collaboratively within an engineering team of mechanical electrical and firmware engineers to design new products and upkeep existing product lines.
- Clearly communicate and collaborate with various members of the purchasing team to assist in sourcing manufacturing components.
- Other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining or related field preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience as a Machinist preferably with CNC equipment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in operating various types of machinery including manual and CNC machines.
- Skilled in using measuring tools such as calipers micrometers and gauges.
- Knowledge of G-code and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to produce work that meets precise specifications and standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machinery as needed to ensure high-quality output.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for long periods lifting heavy materials and working in a workshop environment.
