The position
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day procurement of all materials required to support the production activities at Rocky. This role manages total inventory and cost while supporting the Sourcing Manager in optimizing procurement tools and processes. A close counterpart to the Planning Specialist the Procurement Specialist is part of the first line of support for Production and Sales ensuring our customers can experience and enjoy our products.
This position works from our Workshop in Canmore Alberta Monday through Friday.
What youll be doing
- Prepare and manage data for material forecasting and replenishment planning
- Collaborate with production planning to ensure materials are available on time and in full
- Assist in creating and processing purchase orders in accordance with established Rocky procedures
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure purchase requisitions are complete and accurate
- Capture communicate and proactively address supply risks or pricing variances
- Maintain and update accurate vendor records and documentations
- Follow up with vendors for material availability and on-time delivery
- Support the Sourcing Manager in managing relationships with suppliers addressing any issues and ensuring on-time delivery of materials
- Build processes to reduce overall procurement time eliminate risk and minimize total cost
- Assist in conducting market research to stay up to date on industry trends pricing and product availability
Does this sound like you
- Bachelors degree or advanced diploma in a science-related discipline supply change management or a related field
- Previous experience in procurement purchasing or supply chain management
- Basic understanding of procurement concepts and practices including supplier evaluation negotiation contract management or any legal or regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for procurement activities
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to analyze data identify trends and make data-driven decisions
- Systems knowledge including Microsoft Outlook Word PowerPoint and Excel
