Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology Test & Evaluation Program Mission Support Engineering & Analysis and Training. Responsibilities
As an IDMS Mainframe Database Administrator (Part Time) you will have the opportunity to do the following: Database Management: Manage IDMS databases ensuring optimal performance integrity and security.
- System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks including patch updates and configuration changes.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement effective database backup and recovery strategies.
- Troubleshooting: Identify diagnose and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work with application developers and system administrators to contribute to database design and system architecture.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure databases comply with industry standards and security protocols.
- Capacity Planning: Anticipate and plan for future database capacity requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- 4 years experience as an IDMS Database Administrator with broad experience with legacy versions of Mainframe Server platforms.
- Experience and certification with COBOL a plus.
- DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
- CompTIA Security certification.
Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80100.00/Yr. - USD $133700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
