About the Role
This role hassignificantscope to influenceproduct strategyand design the next generation ofAIcapabilities forThomson Reuters flagshiptaxproducts.
As SrDirector Applied Research you will:
Design and developAI features thatreimaginecustomer workflows
Inform the business and Labs leadership on long term AI strategyand partnerships.
Influence product strategy withhigh valueinsightsaroundusage quality andcustomerfeedback as well as deep technical knowledge and experience buildingsuccessfulAI/ML products
Continuously improve ways of working withcross-functional teams in a fast-paced tightly embedded R&D cycle
Engagesubject matter experts inconcept developmentanddesign workshops
Inspirea team of highly intellectual individuals fostering a culture of innovationcollaborationand continuous learning.
About You
The ideal candidate will have astrongbackground in AI/MLsubstantialexperience buildinglanguage technologyfor commercial productsdemonstratedsuccessleadinghigh-performing teams and the soft skills to bridgebothtechnical and business perspectives.
Minimum qualifications
PhD inComputer Science/MLorMasterspluscomparable experience
Demonstrablehands-on experiencebuildingAI/MLsystemsforcommercial applications
Demonstrable management experiencecoaching & developing high-performing teams
Experience designing and implementing solutions with large language models
Experience innovatingstate-of-the-artsolutionsto solvechallengingreal-world problems
Outstanding communicationandanalytical skills
Preferred qualifications
Experience building solutions forinformationretrieval in complex vertical domains(e.g. involving taxonomy induction document understanding agentic search knowledge graphs and/or neuro-symbolic approaches)
Experiencewith AI agent evaluation language model training with verifiable rewards and/or synthetic data generation.
Relevantpublications at ACL EMNLP NAACLNeurIPS ICLR SIGIR KDD or similar.
