CATEGORY PROJECT MANAGER (MATERNITY COVER)

Based out of Copenhagen or Horsens

At our office facilities in the heart of Copenhagen or by the harbour edge in Horsens you will become part of a modern company with a unique and social internal culture which we do our best to nurture and cherish. You will become a part of our Category Furniture team and report directly to our Head of Category Furniture. The role is a maternity cover starting from May 2026 and lasting 10-12 months.


About the role

As Category Project Manager for Furniture at HAY you will be responsible for managing launch projects as well as other relevant cross functional projects within the Furniture category.

You will help ensure that all furniture products meet design intent quality standards budget parameters and agreed timelines. Acting as the key liaison between Design Product Development Sourcing Managers Product Marketing Brand and other project stakeholders you will translate creative concepts into structured and executable delivery plans in line with the approved project brief.

Each year HAY launches 510 new furniture product families along with 57 extensions to existing ranges and you will play a central role in ensuring these launches are successfully prepared and executed.

Your key responsibilities will be the following:

Ensure launch readiness Project Management & Coordination

  • Lead the planning scheduling and execution of furniture development projects from concept to delivery
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans including timelines budgets resources and deliverables
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Design Category Buyers Product Development Marketing Brand and other relevant stakeholders
  • Track project progress and proactively identify risks delays or design challenges and implement mitigation strategies
  • Lead the Product Fact workstream and ensure delivery of Fact Pack 1 and 2

PLC project management

  • Plan and drive the yearly assortment optimization process including stakeholder management and communication
  • Project manage other relevant initiatives such as larger contract or localization projects

Continuous process improvement

  • Run and continuously fine-tune the Furniture Launch process including sub-processes identification of interdependencies and facilitation of core team meetings
  • Develop and refine project management workflows documentation standards and data management within existing systems

  • Strategic and Data-Driven: You excel in strategic thinking and data analysis turning insights into concrete actions that drive results
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: You manage your own tasks with precision adhering to deadlines through structured and meticulous planning
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated: You work autonomously proactively driving initiatives forward
  • Global Perspective: You are comfortable and effective in an international organization adapting to diverse teams and environments

Experience required

  • Have at least 3-5 years relevant experience from a similar position preferably within the furniture design industry and desirably from a global company with a large product portfolio
  • Have a degree within Industrial Design Project Management Business Administration or equivalent
  • Have strong communication presenting and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with PowerBI preferred
  • Are a super user of Microsoft Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • It is a requirement that your English and Danish language skills are fluent in both spoken and written since HAY is a part of an international design world within the MillerKnoll Group
