Job Summary

The internship is designed to provide students with hands-on supervised work experience in a professional healthcare setting while developing workplace skills responsibility and industry knowledge. La Clinica de la Raza Dental as an official work-based internship site for students enrolled in academic or professional programs through Eden Area Regional Occupational Program.

Internship Duration & Schedule

One semester (typically February 1 May 31)
Monday through Thursday 1:30 PM 3:30 PM
With permission interns may stay until the clinic closes

Responsibilities of La Clinica de la Raza Dental

Provide mentorship to student interns for the duration of the semester.
Offer an organizational orientation covering its mission history services patients operations workplace rules safety procedures privacy policies professional behavior expectations and dress code.
Assign meaningful tasks that support a positive and educational learning experience.
Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws regarding supervision of minors.
Appoint a lead mentor to supervise train coach and regularly meet with the intern to provide feedback and guidance.
Communicate in advance with the intern and internship coordinator if any scheduled internship day must be changed or canceled.
Monitor intern attendance and maintain time records which are submitted weekly to the instructor.
Immediately notify the internship coordinator if the intern misses a scheduled day.
Provide performance assessments when requested and complete a final evaluation at the end of the internship.
Inform the internship coordinator if performance concerns or placement issues arise.
