Job Summary
The Village at University Gates located in Waterloo Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Contracted Music Therapist to join our team.
You will work approximately 65 Hours Per Month.
As a Music Therapist you will work as an independent contractor for Schlegel Villages you will support residents as needed and reflective of their care plans:
- Plan review and assessing therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid the planning of subsequent sessions.
- Take an active role in sessions by playing singing and listening.
- Encourage residents to take part in the session and supporting them by responding musically.
- Help residents explore the world of sound and to create a musical language of their own.
- Support the residents creative development and facilitating positive changes in their behavior and well-being.
- The Music Therapistwill have a degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution and be eligible for Accreditation with The Canadian Association of Music Therapists.
- Experience working with seniors is an asset.
