As our Security Engineering Lead youll play a pivotal role in supporting the Security Operations function.
Your primary responsibilities will be to mentor and support security engineers develop and execute on the security engineering roadmap prioritise the security engineering backlog and be an escalation point for all security engineering issues.
This is a permanent role and can be based in either our Melbourne or Brisbane office with a hybrid work arrangement.

Threat Intelligence Platforms and threat feeds
Cyberattack stages and threat intelligence collection
Cyber threats vulnerabilities and deception networks
Operating systems (Linux/Windows) networks firewalls email security authentication O365 Azure AWS VMware DNS web containers hypervisors
System network and OS hardening
Threatmodelling frameworks (STRIDE PASTA)
OSI model TCP/IP and network traffic analysis
Network architecture protocols and components
Strong understanding of:
Bonus points for:
Knowledge of the telco industry and security platforms used across the sector
Ability to lead through change and align teams to organisational goals
Demonstrated passion for continuous learning in cyber security
Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP GCIP SSCP)

Develop and deliver the security engineering strategy and roadmap
Prioritise and manage the security engineering backlog including detection and automation work
Plan and allocate security engineering resources across business projects
Lead discussions with security tool vendors and ensure full value from licensing
Engage leaders across the business to drive understanding and adoption of security controls
Oversee evaluation implementation and bestpractice use of security tooling
Monitor timelines manage risks and ensure highquality sprint and maintenance delivery
Educate teams on security standards and support architecture initiatives
Mentor and support security engineers including performance and development conversations
Build strong relationships across the organisation and promote security awareness
Ensure health coverage and secure operation of all security platforms (SIEM TIP vuln mgmt deception etc.)
Approve platform changes and lead remediation of identified risks
Develop and review security policies and standards with stakeholders
Lead security design and control implementation for new projects
Conduct threat modelling security reviews and recommend mitigation strategies
Act as incident manager and technical lead for Level 2/3 investigations and response
Improve incident response plans and playbooks and manage investigation workloads
