About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Technology Teacher to join our supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to develop creativity problem-solving skills and technical understanding.
Working within a collaborative department and reporting to the Head of Department the postholder will contribute to high-quality teaching and learning while supporting the schools commitment to academic excellence innovation and student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Technology lessons that engage and challenge students across Key Stages.
Develop and implement schemes of work that align with the national curriculum and examination board requirements.
Assess monitor and record student progress providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
Create a safe inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages creativity and practical learning.
Support students in developing design problem-solving and technical skills through hands-on projects.
Contribute to the development of the Technology curriculum and departmental resources.
Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour in line with school policies.
Participate in departmental meetings school events and professional development opportunities.
Communicate effectively with parents carers and colleagues regarding student progress and wellbeing.
Person Specification
Essential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Technology at secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Technology education.
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Desirable
Experience teaching Design and Technology across multiple specialisms.
Knowledge of GCSE or equivalent examination specifications.
Experience contributing to extracurricular activities or STEM initiatives.
