Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

CNC Programming & Setup
  • Program CNC mill and lathe operations-primarily for new customer projects-using Mastercam or Fusion 360 based on customer blueprints and 3D CAD models.

  • Perform first-article setups dry runs and program edits to confirm accuracy and optimize efficiency.

  • Conduct in-process dimensional inspections during first-article production runs.

  • Train machine operators on setup documentation fixturing and the safe execution of newly released programs.

  • As needed support the movement of materials across affected work centers to maintain customer schedules while troubleshooting and resolving workflow bottlenecks.

  • Maintain proper revision control of CNC programs and tooling documentation.

Manufacturing Lead
  • Review customer blueprints 3D models and specifications to assess manufacturability and prepare accurate time and material estimates for quoting.

  • Create and update manufacturing router sequences Bills of Materials and Work Center data for both new and existing product lines including estimated setup and cycle times to ensure ERP system accuracy.

  • Determine appropriate tooling fixturing and machine assignments based on material type and part geometry for machining on 2- to 5-axis lathes; 3- and 4-axis horizontal and vertical mills; 5-axis mills; and conventional machining equipment.

  • Partner with Customer Production and Quality teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) practices support efficient manufacturing methods and AS9100 compliance.

  • Coordinate shop floor priorities workflow and scheduling to meet customer delivery requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in aerospace CNC machining including advanced CNC programming and setup expertise.

  • 4 - 5 Axis

  • Strong working knowledge of Mastercam or Fusion 360.

  • Comprehensive understanding of G-code GD&T blueprint interpretation and aerospace tolerance standards.

  • Experience operating within AS9100/AS9102-regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to estimate machining time material usage and tooling requirements for quoting.

  • Experience machining aerospace alloys such as titanium Inconel stainless steel and aluminum.

  • This role involves access to information regulated under ITAR. Applicants must qualify as U.S. persons under ITAR definitions (U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder Political Asylee or Refugee).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in a Make-to-Blueprint job shop setting.

  • Experience with Master Routers (Item Masters including Bills of Materials and CNC routing sequences) or the ability and willingness to learn.

  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems such as Syteline JobBOSS Epicor or ProShop.

  • Experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102.

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training is advantageous.
