Scope of Project
The Project Manager will lead infrastructure and security modernization initiatives across enterprise environments including server network cloud endpoint identity and core platform services. This role supports the SC Department of Public Health s cybersecurity posture and infrastructure transformation in alignment with recognized frameworks such as NIST CSF NIST 800-53 FISMA CIS and state security standards.
The position reports within the Office of Information Technology and collaborates with security teams infrastructure teams operational units and executive leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead infrastructure and security-related IT initiatives across the full project lifecycle
- Develop project charters scope statements objectives milestones and success criteria
- Define and track business and technical requirements aligned to enterprise architecture and cybersecurity standards
- Maintain project documentation including schedules risk logs issue logs and executive reporting
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across infrastructure security and business units
- Identify and manage risks escalate issues and recommend mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with agency IT governance and change management processes
- Support audit readiness and evidence documentation activities
- Promote alignment with NIST FISMA CIS state security standards and agency policies
- Provide executive-level status reporting and KPI tracking
Required / Preferred Skills:
Required Skills:
- 3 years as Project Manager in IT initiatives
- 3 years with enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN fundamentals)
- 3 years with NIST Cybersecurity Framework or comparable frameworks (NIST 800-53 FISMA CIS)
- 3 years with cloud platforms (Azure AWS)
- 3 years with Active Directory
- 3 years with Endpoint Management platforms
- 2 years with Azure DevOps SharePoint MS Project Excel
Preferred Skills:
- Security/Infrastructure Project Management in Public Sector
- IT security compliance (CDC HIPAA CJIS)
- Active PMP Certification
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
