Job Summary

Controls Project Manager-Construction About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead controls-focused construction projects from acquisition through successful completion. This role is responsible not only for delivering projects on time and within budget but also for securing new work at acceptable margin levels and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

You will act as the project leader balancing technical execution financial performance and customer satisfaction. This position requires both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement including concept engineering estimating contract development financial management and coordination with engineering and field teams.

What You ll Do:

  • Lead client meetings and support contract development to finalize project sales
  • Develop and execute project implementation plans to ensure timely and cost-effective completion
  • Perform concept engineering and develop complete project estimates and written proposals
  • Oversee day-to-day project execution using sound project management practices
  • Manage financial performance including cost control billing accuracy cash flow and profitability
  • Provide clear financial status updates to management
  • Coordinate with the controls engineering team to ensure efficient system design and implementation
  • Configure design and engineer systems when required maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Customize standard controls software as needed
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications codes safety standards and installation requirements
  • Manage material procurement monitor usage and pursue lead-time discounts where possible
  • Plan and oversee commissioning and system checkout prior to turnover
  • Proactively identify risks and initiate corrective action to protect project outcomes
  • Pursue change orders and equitable adjustments when appropriate
  • Coordinate transition from project completion to service support
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers contractors subcontractors and trade personnel
  • Attend and lead project progress meetings
  • Provide clear direction to installers and subcontractors
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and promote a culture of workplace safety

What We re Looking For:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering with 10 years of experience
    or Associate degree with equivalent related engineering and construction experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Familiarity with construction trade labor practices
  • User-level and basic ALC programming and operational experience or willingness to acquire through self-directed training
  • Proven ability to develop new business opportunities
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of project cost allocation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across varying technical levels
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • High integrity and professional accountability

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to stand walk reach use hands and perform physical construction-site activities
  • Close vision and ability to adjust focus required
  • Moderate noise environment
  • Regular and reliable attendance required

Schedule:

Monday through Friday
Start between 6:00 am and 7:00 am
End between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm
One-hour lunch
Occasional overtime as required by business needs

Compensation:

Annual salary range: $88000 to $116000

Actual compensation is determined based on experience technical skills certifications education location and overall qualifications. Salary is one component of a broader total compensation package.
