Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Full-Time in Newport News VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal you will monitor and patrol assigned manufacturing and industrial locations helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Your role includes conducting routine patrols providing exceptional customer service and communicating clearly with those onsite. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients following security-related procedures site-specific policies and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the industrial location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor for and report any suspicious persons vehicles or activities within the manufacturing and industrial environment.
- Interact professionally with employees visitors and/or contractors providing assistance and information as needed.
- Work closely with Allied Universal management and site leadership to address security-related concerns specific to the location.
- Document and report all incidents observations and activities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
- Remain alert to potential hazards and security-related risks taking appropriate action as needed to help to deter incidents.
Minimum Requirements:
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
