Transmission Distribution and Renewable Energies Engineering Services Canada. The Transmission Distribution and Renewable Energies group specializes in the efficient and cost-effective execution of electricity transmission and distribution (T&D) projectsfrom project conceptualization to engineering procurement construction and commissioning.
Your Role
Establish the design criteria related to the assigned discipline based on specified contractual requirements and in accordance with engineering best practices.
Carry out the design of structural works including buildings structures and foundations.
Prepare the required engineering calculations have them checked approved and archived in accordance with current quality system procedures.
Write technical specifications and oversee the preparation of drawings.
Prepare proposals feasibility studies preliminary designs engineering estimates and schedules.
Collaborate with the project team across all project phases from preliminary design to detailed design construction commissioning and closeout.
Perform conceptual reviews and peer reviews of engineering designs drawings and reports.
About You
Bachelors degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in computeraided design of civil and structural engineering infrastructure.
Member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Quebec or of Ontario or British Columbia.
Industry professional with experience in power transmission and distribution facilities renewable energy plants and heavy industrial installations.
Extensive experience in the design of buildings steel structures concrete masonry architectural elements and on-site civil works in compliance with Canadian and U.S. design codes and standards including analysis and design of foundations for heavy rotating equipment.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with DYNA6.1 PCA software and MS Office suite.
Proficiency in Catia or Revit is considered an asset.
Proficiency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of French is considered an asset.
Experience in writing clear and comprehensive reports technical notes and client presentations.
*This position requires proficiency in a language other than French specifically English since the clients and suppliers you will interact with are primarily English-speaking and located outside Quebec.
