Job Summary

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Must meet qualifications be recommended by management and pass designated examinations to become a QAR.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of all aircraft engine aircrew ordnance or other related systems maintenance tasks which require a QA Representative sign-off per customer/company directives/publications. The Site Manager will determine any additional maintenance tasks requiring QAR level in-process and final inspections.
  • Review and investigate hazard reports as defined in OPNAVINST 3750.6 received from other activities which may apply to the unit.
  • Assist in the preparation of NAMDRP reports.
  • Review all report entries for adequacy and correctness prior to distribution.
  • Provide technical assistance to CDIs and production personnel.
  • Monitor Programs IAW the NAMP and CSEC using an approved QA database.
  • Implement and administer the Special Emphasis Programs and other programs IAW the NAMP.
  • Coordinate with the analyst to develop discrepancy trends and applicable charts and graphs necessary to depict quality performance.
  • Comply with the applicable T/M/S conditional MRCs if flight control malfunctions occur.
  • Direct liaison between QA and production divisions is a necessity and must be energetically exercised.
  • Monitor the Amentum Continuous Improvement Plan and participate in the improvement processes.
  • Provide technical assistance to CDIs and production personnel who are required to make QA decisions. Accompany CDIs on inspections as directed to evaluate their performance.
  • Ensure contractor and field maintenance teams are briefed about FOD Prevention Program requirements and report discrepancies to the FOD Prevention Program Manager.
  • Ensure all work guides checkoff lists check sheets and MRCs used to define and control maintenance are complete and current prior to issuing to crews or individuals.
  • Verify MRCs are entered into the NALCOMIS OOMA or SESS data base as changes occur to the MRC decks.
  • Review all EI requests BTRs PQDRs TPDRs ADRs HMRs EMRs and CODRs to ensure they are accurate clear and concise prior to submission via the JDRS web site.
  • Provide a continuous training program in techniques and procedures pertaining to the conduct of inspections.
  • Monitor information from MDRs including NALCOMIS/OOMA reports/inquiries in developing discrepancy trends to identify failure areas or other maintenance problems.
  • Ensure check pilots and aircrew are briefed before post maintenance FCFs so the purpose and objectives of the flight are clearly understood. After completion of the FCF debrief the check pilots aircrew maintenance control representative and applicable work center representatives to determine compliance with objectives outlined on the FCF checklist and clarify discrepancies noted.
  • Review all incoming technical publications and directives to determine their application to the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure compliance with NAMPSOPs.
  • Must be able to work day shift night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team or detachment as required.
  • Will have experience writing with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Performs aircraft inventory acceptance and transfer inspections.
  • Be capable of becoming Plane Captain certified when directed by management.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by management.
  • Provides technical assistance guidance and instruction as required.
  • Maintains and/or completes required records and applicable maintenance forms
  • Performs daily duties normally associated with this specialty.
  • Practice good housekeeping tool control FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times.
  • Assists in aircraft/equipment movement and flight line foreign object prevention walks.
  • Comply with Hazardous Waste Program.
  • Operates SE flight line vehicles and other support equipment as required.
  • Qualified to perform corrosion detection treatment prevention and documentation per customer/management instructions/directions on aircraft and associated equipment.
  • Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft forms and VIDS/MAF Work Orders in NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Will have knowledge of and understand basic supply procedures. Assist with ordering parts tools materials and equipment as required.
  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract facilities and job assignment.
  • Keeps shop area clean and participate in daily hanger cleanups
  • Screens Technical Directives for applicability and tracks Documentation of Compliance

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • The Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) shall have a minimum of five years of aircraft maintenance experience performing repair and modification of aircraft. The QAR shall have at least three years as a collateral duty inspector or equivalent in accordance with the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2D. The QAR shall have experience on applicable aircraft and possess fully developed skills related to the technical fields under their cognizance.
  • Must have successfully completed approved course or training as required by Company State/Local Govt DOD regulation/Instruction.
  • Will be able to become cross trained into other specialties.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen and completed high school or equivalent.
  • Must read write speak and understand English.
  • Must meet Physical Requirements including but not limited to: Explosives Handling Vision including color & depth perception Hearing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Physical Demands:

This classifications activities range from an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing standing stooping bending pushing kneeling stretching and walking demands. May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 30 pounds. Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment:

The diversity of work conditions may range from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to a flight line environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature wind rain etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes airborne particles and electrical shock hazards.
