International Protective Service Inc. an Allied Universal Company is hiring an Armed Security Officer. The Armed Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our Armed Security Officers allow us to accomplish our companys core purpose which is to service secure and care for the people and businesses in our communities. Armed Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property clients guests or employees at the site.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
- Associates degree or higher in Criminal Justice or protective service related field
- Law enforcement experience
- Military experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience as an armed security professional
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
- Able to complete all range qualifications and functions
- Minimum of 21 years of age (or higher if required by the state)
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- As a condition of employment an employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal state and local laws
- Excellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports
- Able to:
- Work in various environments such as cold weather rain/snow or heat
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
- Climb stairs ramps or ladders occasionally during shift
- Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior security or related protective service experience
- Excellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports
This role is a driving position.
To qualify to operate a company or customer-owned vehicle candidates must possess:
- A valid Drivers License
- At least one year of driving experience
- A clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months no more than 1 accident in last 24 months no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months)
- A minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide high quality security services safeguarding personnel property and information
- Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot bicycle or vehicle to ensure the protection of people assets and sensitive or classified information
- Preserve order and enforces rules regulations and directives for the viability of the site
- Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment restraint devices and weapons.
- Greet guests and employees assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors secure ingress and egress points secure classified information
- Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders reporting safety concerns security breaches and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
- Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary
