Job Description

As a Security Officer - Oil Refineryin Detroit MI you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional at a chemical and petrochemical location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas complete routine rounds support access control and provide helpful customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license under AU Driver Policy requirements. What Youll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Respond to alarms releases medical events and other critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner and communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of operational areas access points and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Support access control activities such as checking identification managing visitor processing and monitoring entry and exit for authorized access.
  • Complete security-related reports and activity logs and assist with incident documentation and follow-up actions as directed by site policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement security (such as Military Police Elite Military Forces combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement adult corrections or firefighter field
    • Bachelors degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
    • Associates degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
  • A valid drivers license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
