About the role
As a UniformPresseryou will start early at 5am and finish early at 1pm you will come in and sort the uniforms and then load the washers and after that condition the uniforms in the dryers ready for pressing. You will press all the staff uniforms as per Marriott standards and send them to the uniform room for distribution. You will have sole control of the laundry until our washerman starts at 6.30am this is an autonomous role and you will have control of the pressing each day. We are a 7-day-a- week operation and as such this is a shared role. You will press 4 days a week with one day on the laundry floor doing general attendant duties. It is not a position where you will be lifting heavy weights but it will suit someone who likes to stay busy has an eye for detail works well with others but also likes to take control of their position.
Criticalresponsibilities:
Ensure correct usage of all equipment
Learn the machines you work with and report faults when they occur
Comply withanddemonstrateawareness of Workplace Health and Safety policies learn how to handle chemicals safely
Washing dryingpressingand folding clean linen from rooms and outlets
Operate andmonitorwashing and drying machinery including adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps.
Identifystained or damaged items anddeterminestatus for repair spot treatment rewash or discard.
Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer dryer and place in clean linen carts.
Set dryers todesignatedtimes and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load.
Remove lint and debris from dryer filters after each load.
Hang and fold clean articles into designated size and department.
Maintainaccuraterecords of items laundered.
Successful candidate will have:
Friendly personality and positive attitude
Good communications skills ability to develop rapport withina short timeframe
To be able to work in a team environment and also take control of the pressing and be in control of that position
Be able to work the fixed hours required for the position
