Job Summary
JOB POSTING: JR. HIGH MATH TEACHER
NCA is a Christian School serving grades Jr.K-12. All qualifying candidates must support the mission statement: New Covenant Academy is a Christian School committed to achieving Academic Excellence teaching Biblical Truth and developing Christ-like character.
New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Jr. High Math Teacher (7th grade math Pre-Algebra Algebra) beginning in August 2025 to May 2026. (Employment agreement renewable annually pending board approval.)
JOB SUMMARY:
The role of the teacher is to engage and inspire students to learn the subject matter and impart skills and attitudes that will positively contribute to their development as mature able and responsible Christian men and women. The teacher will integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum and plan and implement a course of study to meet the individual needs of students prepare lesson plans and assess student progress while demonstrating their own mastery of the subject matter taught. The teacher must also communicate and collaborate effectively with parents students administration and faculty for the success of each student.
TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must have a valid Missouri (or from another state within the U.S.) Teaching Certificate and hold an appropriate endorsement in the areas of instruction with a minimum of a Bachelors of Science degree in the area of teaching. Furthermore candidates must have a Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that exemplifies the Christian faith and must demonstrate evidence of regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ and have an expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian school.
BENEFITS & COMPENSATION
The salary is based on training and experience. Starting salary for a 1st year teacher with a Bachelors Degree and Teacher Certification begins at $40000. Fringe benefits for the full-time teacher include medical insurance for the employee with NCA paying for a majority of the premium. The employee may pay for an additional cafeteria plan for themselves and their family. 50% discount in tuition remission for your own qualified student to attend New Covenant Academy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision. The employee is frequently required to walk stand; sit; possibly run stretch; use hands for fine manipulation handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop kneel or crouch. The employee must have the ability to demonstrate the proper techniques and skills needed for athletic participation. Other physical activities may be required related to the physical ability to perform emergency procedures evacuating students out of the classroom (possibly through a window) or following other emergency protocol. This position may require occasional lifting or transport of objects (25-30lbs). Rarely it may be necessary to lift up to 50 lbs.
