Job Description
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Response Team in New York NY you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas complete routine rounds and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance document observations and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while providing strong customer service. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents staff visitors and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures access control requirements and security-related protocols at a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents resident concerns and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner coordinating with site management and/or emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of common areas entrances stairwells exterior perimeter and other assigned areas noting conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
- Monitor doors gates cameras and/or alarm systems as assigned verifying authorized entry and reporting suspicious or unusual activity to the appropriate contacts.
- Complete timely reports such as shift logs incident reports and patrol documentation and communicate relevant updates during post transitions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
- Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
