We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Controller to manage the financial and contractual aspects of real estate development projects from feasibility through to final account. The role involves cost planning budget control value engineering payment certification and financial reporting to ensure optimal project performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Planning & Budgeting
Prepare detailed cost estimates and feasibility studies
Develop project budgets aligned with profitability targets
Conduct ROI analysis and cost benchmarking
Review consultant estimates and contractor quotations
2. Cost Control & Monitoring
Track project costs against approved budgets
Identify variances and recommend corrective actions
Maintain cost databases and reporting systems
Prepare monthly cost reports and dashboards
3. Value Engineering
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
Conduct cost-benefit analysis for design alternatives
Review BOQs and recommend optimised solutions
4. Payment & Cash Flow Management
Review and certify contractor payment applications
Manage cash flow forecasts and project invoicing
Coordinate with Finance and Collection teams
Ensure timely payments and collections
5. Contract Administration & Claims
Assess variation orders and cost impacts
Evaluate contractor claims and prepare justifications
Support final account negotiations
Review contractual cost-related correspondence
6. Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting
Prepare reports for senior management and leadership
Coordinate with internal departments and external consultants
Support pricing strategies with Sales & Marketing
Requirements
Education:
Experience:
57 years of experience in Quantity Surveying / Cost Control
Minimum 3 years in real estate or large-scale construction projects
Experience handling high-value projects (QAR 100M)
GCC/Qatar experience preferred
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of cost management and quantity surveying principles Proficiency in tools like CostX PlanSwift or similar Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Familiarity with ERP systems and project management software Knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC QCS etc.) Ability to interpret architectural structural and MEP drawings
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in quantity surveying Civil Engineering or related fieldMRICS/RICS certification preferred (PMP is a plus)
