Job Description
As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access Control in Durham NC you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a commercial real estate location you will help manage entry points greet tenants and visitors verify credentials and support a smooth check-in process. You will conduct routine patrols remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents respond to alarms and calls for service and document observations with clear communication. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to tenants visitors and contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at a commercial property.
- Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification confirming authorization issuing visitor credentials and maintaining access logs and/or visitor management records.
- Monitor cameras alarms and building systems as assigned; report irregular activity maintenance concerns and policy violations through established communication and escalation channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including completing incident documentation and coordinating with property management and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas parking areas and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support tenant and property operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
