Job Summary

AECOM has an immediate need for an experienced Project Manager for employment in Washington DC.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the management of the projects administrative and inspection efforts during the construction phase.
  • Oversee validation of products and materials ordered for projects to verify the accordance to the specifications.
  • Monitor and assess construction performance while recording construction activities to ensure compliance with construction documentation requirements.
  • Manage inspection work in progress to ensure that methods materials and equipment conform to approved standards.
  • Assist Sr Construction Manager with project documentation through review of Construction Inspectors daily status reports and construction progress schedules. Additionally ensure utilization of shop drawing submittals process and incorporation of RFIs; conduct review of contractor change orders and make recommendations for changes and ultimately incorporate change orders into project record.
  • Coordinate and track project activities.
  • Coordinate with the General Contractor or Prime Trade/Specialty Contractors and ensure Scheduling of all testing/inspections required by the Contract Documents or governmental authorities and arrange for the delivery of test and inspection reports to the OWNER and Architect.
  • Manage punch list submitted by others and verify that items on the punch list have been completed and corrected prior to recommending substantial completion to the Owner.
  • Support Sr. Project Manager/Construction Manager with administration of contracts liaison duties with user groups project team coordinator and project management support duties to execute capital projects.
  • Monitor construction work progress process field construction documentation (RFI and submittal validation and logging) also provide engineering support and coordination of construction field activities with MEP and Third-Party inspectors.
  • Coordinate with the General Contractor or Prime Trade/Specialty Contractors on required meetings and attend all site-based meetings supporting the Sr Project manager and/or Construction Manager
  • Coordinate project documentation with cost and schedule control reviewers.
  • Support Sr Project Manager and/or Construction Manager in managing change process.
  • Support Sr Project manager and/or Construction Manager in reviewing Payment Applications
  • Review and document condition of any off-site stored materials including gathering all the necessary insurances and bill of sales for Owner supporting pay application review and approval on behalf of the Owner

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in construction management Architecture Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 6 years of relevant experience required
  • Must have knowledge and experience managing a project from initial programming design-phase programming and construction-phase execution through final close-out.

Preferences:

  • 8 years of equivalent experience
  • PMP or CCM certification
  • Deep expertise in Design-Build and CM-at-Risk delivery methods
  • Knowledge of federal/local government procurement/compliance process and procedures is essential.
  • Operational awareness and experience working within active high-traffic public facilities or performing arts environments.
  • Technical proficiency and a mastery of industry-standard project controls software (e.g. Procore Bluebeam Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to distill complex construction data into clear actionable reports for leadership.
