The Corporate Development function is responsible for driving the strategic growth and expansion of ING. This includes identifying evaluating and executing mergers acquisitions divestitures and strategic partnerships. The team works closely with senior leadership to enable INGs Growing the Difference strategy. The team provides support on:
Strategic Growth topics: Identifying and pursuing both organic and inorganic opportunities that align with INGs strategic vision and enhance its competitive position.
Value creation: Execute transactions and initiatives that create value for shareholders through synergies market expansion operational efficiencies and identifying organic growth opportunities.
Risk management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with potential transactions and organic growth initiatives to ensure sustainable development
Integration: Ensure seamless integration of acquired entities and successful implementation of organic growth strategies to maximise value and achieve strategic objectives.
The team
The Corporate Development department consists of 35 professionals that focus on mergers acquisitions divestitures and strategy development for ING.
Roles and responsibilities
This role is a senior consultant position - where you are responsible for analyzing composing and delivering a detailed solution to a business issue at hand. Senior consultants may also be asked to lead certain efforts assess and review business segments through various lenses and communicate your findings in a structured actionable format to various stakeholders.

An ideal Candidate Profile would have the following qualifications:
Very strong academic track record with a university degree (Masters-level required);
Minimum 3 years of (strategy) experience from a top-tier management consulting firm;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - a clear understanding how to link strategy to financial plans; Experience in MS Excel and other data analytics tools is required;
Ability to utilize research to develop deep insights and drive actionable results (business sense);
Persistent open and convincing communicator. Able to work effectively with all levels in the organization including senior management.
Clear history of success and driving impact.
Ability to work effectively in teams.
Demonstrated interest in the Financial Services sector.
Must be fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch is advantageous.
Willing to travel worldwide (although most travel tends to be in the EU)
