A hands on procurement role delivering practical commercial outcomes for customers.

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our close-knit Procurement team based in either Brisbane or Adelaide. This role plays a key part in providing procurement and shared services to our customers delivering end to end procurement and contract management while supporting strong commercial outcomes across the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager this is a practical and delivery focused procurement role with responsibility for managing end to end procurement activities across allocated categories and customers.

You will work closely with customers internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver measurable benefits including cost savings improved efficiency and risk mitigation. You will also support broader procurement team activities and contribute to a culture of high performance collaboration and customer service.

Your working week will be busy and varied and may include the following core responsibilities.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver end to end procurement and contract management across allocated categories and customers
  • Manage RFx/sourcing processes (RFI RFQ RFP) including documentation evaluation recommendation and award
  • Conduct market analysis and supplier assessments to ensure value for money supply continuity and risk mitigation.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial contracts including pricing terms renewals extensions and variations.
  • Build and maintain effective supplier relationships addressing performance delivery pricing and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date contract and supplier information in Mutual Marketplace systems
  • Analyse procurement spend and contract performance and provide insights and guidance to customers; and present opportunities.
  • Deliver measurable procurement outcomes including cost savings efficiency improvements and risk mitigation
  • Act as a key representative of Mutual Marketplace with customers stakeholders and suppliers
  • Contribute to day-to-day procurement team operations and continuous improvement initiatives

Stakeholder and Customer Engagement

You will build strong working relationships with customer business owners budget owners and internal stakeholders.

You will:

  • Act as a trusted procurement adviser to customers
  • Communicate clearly and proactively on procurement activities and outcomes
  • Support customer satisfaction in line with Mutual Marketplace service levels
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork professionalism and exceptional service

Risk Compliance and Governance

You will support risk aware procurement practices by:

  • Mitigating customer and organisational risk through best practice procurement processes
  • Supporting compliance with procurement policies procedures and statutory requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and controls
  • Supporting workplace health and safety obligations and inclusive work practices

Skills and Experience

You will be a motivated procurement professional who enjoys working at pace and delivering practical outcomes.

You will have a minimum of three years procurement experience with demonstrated capability across sourcing contracting negotiation and relationship management.

In addition you will demonstrate:

  • IT category management experience desired but not essential
  • Have strong commercial and analytical skills
  • Be highly organised with strong attention to detail and time management
  • Communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Be comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a team environment
  • Bring a professional enthusiastic and customer centric mindset

Desirable qualifications include:

  • CIPS or similar procurement certification
  • A degree in Business Economics or a related discipline
