Facility/Unit: Laconia & Franklin Emergency Departments
Shift: Day Shift with Rounding Requirements
Hours: Monday Friday (Day Shift)
Schedule: Weekdays with availability to round on other shifts as needed
Pay Rate: $80/hr Type: Contract
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Interim Emergency Department Nurse Manager to provide leadership oversight for Emergency Departments at Laconia and Franklin. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on ED clinical expertise combined with proven leadership experience managing Emergency Departments preferably across multiple sites.
This role requires a dependable leader focused on nursing practice excellence quality improvement and staff development in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Facility Overview -
Franklin: 8-bed ED Critical Access Hospital (stabilize and ship)

Laconia: 32-bed ED 6-bed locked acute psych unit
-
No trauma designation; Laconia handles higher acuity than Franklin

Leadership for psych unit managed by Behavioral Health

Responsibilities -
Provide operational and clinical leadership for two Emergency Departments

Mentor and develop charge nurses and emerging leaders
-
Implement leader standard work and quality improvement initiatives
-
Ensure safe efficient patient throughput and ED flow
-
Support staffing scheduling and performance management
-
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and hospital leadership
-
Maintain compliance with regulatory and hospital standards
-
Participate in rounding across shifts as needed

Support union environment and workforce engagement
Requirements -
Minimum 3 years acute care clinical experience in ER nursing

Prior successful ED Nurse Manager experience required

Experience managing multi-site EDs preferred

Strong hands-on emergency nursing skills

Union environment experience preferred

Experience mentoring and developing leaders
-
AHA BLS and ACLS required
-
TNCC and PALS preferred

Cerner experience preferred but not required

Ability to work Monday Friday with flexible rounding availability
