The Department of Chemistry at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a visiting full-time faculty position for the Spring 2026 semester to begin in early January.
This visiting position is a one semester replacement position. This colleague would
serve as the General Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor and teach 6 sections of CHEM 231 laboratory (Equilibrium and Reactivity General Chemistry II) in the spring.
Key job responsibilities include:
Co-teaching 6 General Chemistry II lab courses with Chemistry faculty
Lab preparation and instrument maintenance
Content development and overseeing grading with TA support
Office hours and providing additional student support outside of lab hours
Attending department meetings and seminars
A PhD in Chemistry is preferred but candidates with a Masters degree in
Chemistry or a PhD in a related scientific discipline will be considered.
Visiting full-time faculty are eligible to apply for support to present at a conference or
attend a professional development program through the Provosts Supplemental
Research Fund. The College will support reimbursement of relocation costs within its
published policies. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits.
The salary for this one semester full-time visiting position will be at least $34000.
Candidates must demonstrate commitment to and excellence in undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field.
