Job Description Summary

The Global Process Engineering Authority (GPEA) is the technical authority responsible for defining deploying and governing global manufacturing process and equipment standards for generator rotating components. This role drives standardization equipment reliability cost reduction and technology industrialization across GE Vernovas Generator Value Stream in alignment with the Next Generation Supply Chain (NGSC) strategy.
Working closely with the Global Process Engineering Leader (GPEL) the GPEA provides technical leadership across a global dottedline network of factory technical leaders. The role ensures consistent application of best practices and sustained improvements in Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC) while fostering a culture of inclusion respect for people and continuous improvement.

Job Description

The Global Process Engineering Authority (GPEA) partners with the Global Process Engineering Leader (GPEL) to develop deploy and sustain global manufacturing standards that improve equipment reliability availability performance and total cost for generator rotating component manufacturing.

This role is accountable for driving equipment and process standardization across GE Vernovas global manufacturing footprint enabling consistent execution and predictable outcomes. The GPEA analyzes operational and reliability data to identify risk implement proactive improvement actions and drive continuous improvement in generator manufacturing processes.

The GPEA serves as a focal point for new technology introduction asset transfers and new process deployment. This includes defining leadtime strategies recommending equipment and technology selections and establishing requirements for fixturing control plans qualification and industrialization of manufacturing assets.

The position provides technical leadership to a global dottedline network of factory technical leads across the supply chain. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability deep manufacturing and equipment expertise and disciplined application of Lean principlesparticularly the One Product One Process philosophyto deliver sustainable improvements aligned with business and functional objectives.

The GPEA plays a critical role in the Generator Value Stream by building technical capability strengthening manufacturing standards and supporting a culture of inclusion respect and continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

Global Standards and Governance

  • Define control and communicate global standards for manufacturing assets including:

    • Facility integration and acceptance testing
    • Machine health checks calibration and verification
    • Preventive and predictive maintenance plans
    • Spare parts strategies and lifecycle planning
    • Technical and technology training requirements
  • Ensure adherence to global equipment and process standards across sites.

Reliability and Performance Improvement

  • Develop and deploy equipment reliability improvement strategies using industry best practices including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Establish monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability availability and performance; drive corrective actions to close gaps to targets.

  • Lead investigations into equipment failures and chronic issues ensuring robust root cause identification and sustainable corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing equipment downtime improving process capability and improving quality outcomes.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Validate design specifications and shopfloor application of new processes in collaboration with:

    • EHS
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Engineering
    • Quality
    • Materials
    • Industrialization
    • Sourcing
  • Partner with maintenance operations engineering and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Asset and Technology Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership for asset management including equipment lifecycle analysis and spare parts optimization.

  • Support the design installation commissioning and qualification of new equipment ensuring Design for Reliability principles are embedded from concept through launch.

  • Serve as the technical authority for new technology introduction asset transfers and process industrialization across the Generator Value Stream.

Strategic and Technical Leadership

  • Apply specialized functional expertise to influence strategy resource prioritization and policy development within the Generator Value Stream.

  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products processes and services.

  • Stay current on relevant manufacturing reliability and industrial technology trends that may inform future strategy.

  • Exercise sound judgment in complex operational and technical decisions synthesizing information from multiple internal and external sources to develop clear recommendations.

  • Lead functional projects or small teams clearly communicating complex concepts and influencing stakeholders toward improved outcomes.

Additional Requirements

  • Colead deployment of manufacturing systems supporting Next Generation Supply Chain (NGSC) migration across the global Generator Value Stream.

  • Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology including:

    • Measuring machine capability
    • Analyzing process requirements
    • Developing strategies to sustain or improve process yield
  • Deploy Lean manufacturing principles including:

    • Transformation Planning
    • Production Preparation Process (3P)
    • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
    • Standard Work
    • Kaizen
    • Structured Problem Solving
    • PokaYoke

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality
    OR

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing asset reliability and maintenance.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and quality systems.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints specifications drawings and schematics.

  • Demonstrated project management experience.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $122600.00 and $204400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
