Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) is the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) highway and bridge maintenance contractor for three service areas in British Columbia: Service Area 7 (Fraser Valley) Service Area 20 (Robson) and Service Area 26 (Skeena).
For decades EAM has delivered reliable road and bridge maintenance across urban and rural corridors. Our teams perform the full scope of highway maintenance activities including vegetation control drainage sign and pavement repairs concrete and wood bridge repair gravel surface grading antiicing snow plowing and incident and emergency response. Based out of regional offices and yards our skilled yearround workforce scales up during winter operations to meet seasonal demands and maintain prescribed response times on numbered routes.

The Opportunity
Were seeking applications for winter highway maintenance workers/labourers for the Service Area 26 (Skeena) which includes Terrace Kitimat and Gitlaxtaamiks. This is a seasonal full-time position consisting of manual labour and operating plow trucks. Multiple positions available.
As a Winter Highway Maintenance Worker with Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) youll help keep roads safe and reliable throughout the winter season. Youll operate plow and sanding trucks support handson road repairs and work with a skilled crew to respond quickly and work safely in all weather. This is a physically demanding labourintensive role that involves outdoor work in cold snowy conditions and extended shifts when needed. If you enjoy working outdoors take pride in essential community service and thrive in a fastpaced team environment this role is for you.
Although we are a unionaffiliated organization being an active member is not a prerequisite.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Removal of snow and ice by safely using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
- Completion of pre-trip and post trip inspections.
- Changing snowplow blades.
- Patching potholes and jackhammering.
- Doing maintenance and minor service works on vehicles.
- Digging out plugged drainsmaintainingshrubbery and picking up litter.
- Any other duties asrequired.
Your Qualifications & Skills
- Working safely is a condition of employment.
- Minimum class 3 with air brake endorsement.
- Previoussnow plowing and heavy equipment experience is an asset.
- Willing towork; days nightsweekendsand holidays.
- ValidOccupational First Aid Level 1 an asset.
- Overtime work required in the event of a snowstorm.
- Ability tooperaterequired equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
- Acknowledge this position can belabourintensive.
- Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Valid Canadian drivers license with a clean abstract.

- Union hourly rate: $31.23$39.06 per hour.
