We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse talented people to join Alcon. As a Sourcing Manager Transportation & Distribution supporting the MTO Team in Fort Worth TX a typical day will include:
Oversee procurement for specific categories of goods and services ensuring quality cost and delivery requirements are met.
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers for efficient sourcing and delivery.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate options based on cost quality and reliability.
Manage the procurement process including issuing Requests for Proposals negotiating contracts and monitoring supplier performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and supplier consolidation.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies procedures and budgetary constraints.
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for various transportation modes (e.g. truckload lessthan-truckload rail ocean and air freight) and distribution (warehouse services capital equipment supplies etc.) including the development of RFPs supplier selection and contract award processes.
Negotiate contracts with transportation and distribution service providers ensuring favorable terms and conditions cost savings and service level agreements.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Use data analytics skills to evaluate opportunities identify trends and support decision making processes.
Work closely with internal stakeholders including supply chain finance and operations teams to align procurement strategies with business needs.
Stay informed of market trends industry developments and regulatory changes affecting supply chain and logistics.
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 13 yrs; Assoc.9 yrs; M.S.2 yrs; PhD0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English
